Oh my goodness, ALA. I've wanted to go to this con for years because of all the great things I hear from ~
tandiee so finally I had the chance to go, unfortunately the one year that she cant however. But still, It was a great time! (:
Thursday
We arrived on Thursday around 11, since we were driving in from Disneyland and we obviously weren't able to check in yet - so I decided to take my boyfriend to Little Tokyo since he didn't go to AX with us and hadn't been there yet. We ate some sushi, bought a few things and then headed back around 3 to check in!
The remainder of the night consisted of me frantically trying to finish two costumes that would be worn the following day D:
Friday
Woke up and put the final touches on the costumes. My Asuna costume turned out well, Zack's Kirito costume not so much. I really didn't want to use Vinyl/leather type fabric for it, however he insisted since the coat is indeed leather - it was a bitch to work with so much of that material and I definitely plan to remake it out of a better material in the near future!
Anyway, we wore those for a few hours, did a shoot with EBK and then changed. I put on a super casual Asuna of sorts and we just wandered around the vendors hall and artist alley until our friends arrived later in the day.
That evening I wore my Chuck kigurumi with ~
electric-lady and I finally had the opportunity to meet ~
Shiya who is definitely one of my cosplay inspirations, so that was pretty cool (:
The night ended with helping ~
electric-lady with some final costume touches for the next day.
Saturday
Didn't get ready till around noon. I was cosplaying Galaxxxy Panty with ~
electric-lady as Galaxxxy Stocking. We were both super excited for these costumes, as they are a version that isn't done very often, and plus colors! Colors everywhere! xD
Most the the day was spent talking with friends (I again had the chance, albeit brief, to meet ~
the-sushi-monster another cosplay inspiration
), and we did do some video with ChillyWilly and Twisted Manga, and also shot some photos with ~
electric-lady's BF, RickyfromVegas!
(And in case you are curious, Zack dressed as Red from Pokemon. But he didn't change until later in the day and when he came up to me, I didn't recognize him at first xD).
Anddd, the night ended again dressed in our kigurumi (: (I also watched the masquerade).
Sunday
Quiet day, no cosplay. Just wandered around and talked with people a bit. Left around noon to head back to Arizona!
And here we are today, the Spring semester starts today and I have work, huzzah! xD

BUT! Overall I really enjoyed ALA and I would definitely consider going back again!

Relief 
ALA is smaller, quite a bit smaller - but there are still a lot of cosplayers and a lot going on. Less space though. Sometimes smaller is fun though, you get to see and spend time with more people (:
